Mornin Alfie.. Mornin Mum...

Just nipped home to get some stuff and update the blog for you guys. I went to see Alfie this morning and heard that he'd had a really good night, in fact he was still asleep. He continues to progress and do the things that "normal" babies do. As he stopped breathing he is being monitored for the effects of oxygen starvation (nothing causes concern yet!) as there is a risk of brain damage. The hospital are running a research program into the effects of "cooling" on preventing or lessening damage after an "assult" (their term not ours!) ... it works for adults apparently... so we've signed him up and luckily he was placed in the "Cooling Group" rather than the do nothing out of the ordinary "Control Group." He'll now spend 3 days chilling out at 33 degrees.

Mum had a good nights sleep ... as did I on a matress on the floor... at the hospital . She is very sore this morning and continues to have a fluid drip and other wires attached... other than that she is a very positive and proud parent.

(I'm back at the hospital now... I'll update with any news as it happens...)

Hi Guys,
What an adventure you are having! Sorry it has taken me so long to log on to your blog, or indeed to get back to you at all, but it really does seem like only yesterday that you were here. How time flies.
Congratulations on Alfie. Dave and I reckon he looks the image of Paul. But Dave says not to worry about that just yet.
We were also sorry to hear that you have had a few concerns with his health, and we want you to know that our thoughts and best wishes are with you both always.
Faith also wishes you all the best, and is chuckling over my shoulder right now at your pictures (especially how big your tummy got). She misses you both, and wants to write her own letter back to you this weekend.
Dave is preparing to captain the parents team against the teachers next Friday, and says he is glad Paul is not playing this time around. Although he admits that he now finds that there are way too many peanuts to get through on Quiz nights without Paul.
Me, I miss the chat, and the banter, and am gutted that I can't just pop up the road and visit you all. Especially Alfie.
Please take care of yourselves, and we promise to continue logging on to your blog from now on.
Keep in touch and our best wishes are with you all.

Lucy, Dave and Faith
