Aunty Carina or is it Dr. Fossaaen?

With Newcastle bathing in some long overdue sunshine we caught up with Carina. She is a medical student working at the Hospital where Alfie was born. Little did she know that on her routine practical experience she would end up immersed in the whole Alfie birthing saga! She was fantastic giving us so much support before, during and after the birth, even when we weren't able to get to intensive care she would be there and come back with a smiling face and the good news of Alfie's recovery. She was able to rub Beth's back when I could rub no more (I lost my finger prints!!!) and fetch, carry and find everything we could possibly need. It's amazing how close you can get to someone after surviving just one momentus day together, we feel like we've known her for ages in fact there isn't much that she doesn't know about Beth (and her parts!!!) but I guess that goes with being a Doctor! Her daily visits during the eleven days spent in hospital were most welcome...

She has certainly shown that she has made the right career choice and we all wish her luck with the rest of her studies and a well deserved safe trip home to Norway after her recent exams. See you again in Newie soon... xxx
